June 2019: From the CEO’s Desk
I am proud to share with you, that HGO continues to take steps to achieve their goal in becoming the largest processor and marketer of value-added hazelnut products in North America. Recently, the HGO team, led by our new General Manager Greg Thorsgard, has accomplished some exciting things. In May, HGO achieved an SQF level 3 certification, which makes it the only hazelnut facility in North America with this important food safety and quality rating. (Read SQF article on page one). This week we added a new Ingredient Sales Manager who spent the last 11 years working for one of the premier branded nut companies. Also, we are in the final interview process to hire a Marketing Manager and a new Grower Relations Manager to support the HGO’s growth.
Later this month, we will be launching our new packaging for Roasted, Natural, Sliced and Diced Hazelnuts and introducing five new delicious hazelnut flavors in August.
We are finalizing the date of our Annual HGO grower meeting for late August. Details will be sent to you via text, and announced, in the July Monthly Bulletin, and email. I hope to see all of you there. We are excited for you to meet the newest members of our HGO team and enjoy samples of our new products.
